spellcasting problem Gothic II NoR

I'm having a problem with spellcasting in the NoR version of Gothic II from the Gothic Universe edition. No matter whether I press L mouse or L Control key, I cannot cast a scroll spell, even though I have enough mana.

I have tried re-configuring the keys, tried using the alternative keys option, but it makes no difference, I still cannot cast any scrolls.

I was hoping to become a mage, but I need to solve this problem first!

Has anyone encountered this and does anyone have a solution?

go into your inventory to the spell you want to cast,click on it and it will be assign a number betweeen 4 & 10(0).close inventory and press the number that the spell was assigned,you should now be able to cast that spell.

Try L-Ctrl+Forward-Arrow.

Thanks for this. I'd already allocated numbers to my spell scrolls in the inventory and was selecting them, but couldn't get them to fire.

Onisuzume is right, by pressing L Control and the forward arrow key I can fire them. Another key that works to fire spells with L Control pressed is the W key.

Why don't you just turn off gothic 1 controls? You'd need to click only if you did that.

Thought reconfiguring to 'alternative' did turn off Graphic 1 controls. also tried reallocating keys. Is there a another method I've missed?

Oh, I got the orc. Found a better method for the 2nd though.
