Hello there! ;)
Dragon Hunt in G2 was really nice to me the first/second time around.
But there were many other good quests, like the Focus Search in G1.

For me the most interesting quest was Stranger in G1:D . It was really good quest, so I'm sad, that in G2 isn't any like:( . And in G2 is my favourite quest the Test of fire, when you becoming fire mage§burn :) .

I think the most humiliating quest was to find Nek's body(in G1), pick up his amulet and then give it to Sly, because he hold the amulet for himself§cry , lowlife.§burn
And quest with Whistler's sword, too.
For me the most interesting quest was Stranger in G1.
Yes me 2 and when u find out about the seakers and all mage litle quests

The quest with the magic Stone Golem in G2 at the test of fire is by far the best quest I had, from my point of view. It's hard, but the satisfaction is huge once you get it done!§knin §knin :D ;)
The more interesting quest is what are we going to find out in the Mainland. :)

hmmm....Interesting quest for me was the Eye of Innos or the Dragons and more ;)
Humiliating quest was when Parlan put you to sweap the novices chambers

For me also the Test of Fire and The Stranger are the best quests, because it´s like a own little journey you start in these quests  .
The most humiliating were those water bringing for Lefty, later on when i passed him i gaved him often what he deserved for treating me like that in the beginning. $bsg
The most interesting and scary quest is the one where you have to swim to Xardas' sunken tower, and when you get on the other side..zombies!
And the most humiliating was the one where you had to kill the Lurker in the new camp, that damn peasant could of killed it himself §burn !
I agree to this one -->

@EGANETH §wink welcome :). A friend of Zaratul maybe? :D
Most interesting quest : Rukhar and the drinking contest :D
Most irritating quest : Collecting Greg's treasures :)
I agree with Werner. In G1 the Chromanin quest and in G2 the "Test of Fire" were the most interesting exactly for the reasons he gave. You are put on a little journey and both quests require you to think "outside the box".
The quest I most disliked was the one with Baloro in G1 - it's a hoax! Baloro is pulling your leg.
Necromantic

The most interesting quest?I guess it would be the Temple of Sleeper quest stuffies. The most humiliating? The meatbug ragou quest for snaff in G1

The Sleeper Temple quests are surely the best story quests from gothic, but the stranger quest was the most interesting! :D
The most humiliating hest was the one where you had to kill all blood flies from the swamp! :o
The focus search which Saturas gave is the best quest i've seen in gothics. Aww it sure brings some good memories, like me and diego kicking some serious troll ass! Join the new camp and see the colony!
Also the mine crawler thing in the old mine is worth of mentioning.
From gothic 2: Its either the dragon hunt or the test of fire.
R3l!3f_CZ

Also the mine crawler thing in the old mine is worth of mentioning.
Oh, I've nearly forgotten this...
Yes, this have been very good...:D :D
Also the mine crawler thing in the old mine is worth of mentioning.
The one where you need to find the Minecrawler Queen, Yes it almost looked like ALIEN:D
For what I remember, I liked the one in some orc tomb with the helping guru turning mad in the end. The formidable weapons mini-quest in the new mine was fun as well. And I liked the Ulu-Mulu making.
Most boring quest was Water for Lefty.
In G2, I liked taking Rosi to the city, and the Blood Chalices quest (I even got all of them before being allowed to enter Hagen's place).
And a humiliating one is when this "merchant" in G2 wants you to frame another one. Moral dilemma for a thief, since you can go with nature and frame a likable innocent girl, or be courteous and betray your own kind.
Although humiliating (and sad) is the search for the crossbow near the palisade. I hoped I could bring this paladin back alive.
Most interesting quest. Fo me it was Raven because I didn't know what it's about, how it will end, what I must do, and I loved the add-on world, the quest is also long and full of surprises :D

As for me, the quest I liked the most was: in g1: looking for Xardas and his tower. In g2: escoritng Bilgot out of the mining colony into the hidden passage. I love to explore, and get to know new areas, and the first time, when I went into the orc's lands, was, when I had to look for Xardas. The matter with Bilgot, though was, that he was the first peston - companion I could walk with, who followed me everywhere, and helped me when fighting.
I agree with whoever posted that the "Test of Fire" was the most interesting one in G2. The things you had to do to succeed were quite varied as were the approaches you could use to acheive them.
They also gave you just the right hints, but didn't hold your hand. You felt good for accomplishing the quest. Unlike Oblivion which pretty much gives you everything for a quest on a silver platter (NOTE: I still like Oblivion a LOT!).

I know it sounds rather silly, but my favorite quest was just getting into Khorinis in Gothic 2. There are so many ways to get into the city, it's just great how well thought-out it was. What other RPG can let you into a guarded area by masquerading as a herbalist? Or disguising yourself as a peasant?
Coolest way in? By far using the exploit to jump over the low wall and hearing Lares' suprsied reaction. Good stuff.
WernerTWC
29.04.2006, 03:41
That's not silly,... i had played the game through, i think 3 times, in the 4th runthrough i checked walkthroughs and hints on that (back in days on the german forum),... this was so very cool, i was swimming into the city,.. and he asked if i swimm in there,... how cool is that!?!? :A
My favourite quests in Gothic I were:
+ the Focus Stones
+ The Orc Town (finding Uriziel)
+ Stranger
+ finding Xardas
and in Gothic II:
+ the Eye of Innos
+ the Dragons
+ killing all the orcses. Bad orcses! :D

-summoning Quarhodron

The most exciting quest was the one from G1 with the books (can't remembeer the name)
Petyamester
02.12.2006, 17:39
For me:
Picking up the meadow knotweeds for the farmer :D
For real:
the minecrawler queen was great, and i like a lot of the smaller quests too, like joining the thieves, but killing Dexter and his gang rocks.
Another thing: the story of the Barrier sais that 12 mages united their powers:6 from the Circle of Fire and 6 from the Circe of Water. They were led by a 13th mage, Xardas, member of the Circle of Fire back then. That's what Saturas said in g1. In g1 there were 6 magician of Fire, but not all of them created the Barrier. We know that Milten joined up with the Circle in the penal colony. So, who was the other Fire Mage? It's not mentioned anything about him. Of all there were 7th Fire Mages, including Xardas, who led them all.
WernerTWC
02.12.2006, 18:39
So, who was the other Fire Mage?
It's Milten, it was a design-mistake from the PBs.
It's Milten, it was a design-mistake from the PBs.
What design-mistake mean? And it doesn't make sense. Milten is too young.

A story-design-mistake, and of course it doesn't make sense, otherwise it woudn't be a mistake. ;)
G1
-The Stranger (very cool )
-Minecrawer Nest (very cool)
-Temple of the Sleeper ( Even when i have played gothic 1 for many times every time the temple gives me the chills, specily when im playin in 12:00 am :D )
-Recharging URIZIEL (the movie when they recharge URIZIEL and when the water mages see them Milten and the Nameless hide the sword and the scroll behind their backs and the smile :D )
-Xardas old tower ( very scary and cool :D )
G2
One of the most interisting quests for me is "Vino's destilary" because i have finished this quest only 1 time. The thing with the molerat fat very cool :)
Negative
08.12.2006, 17:46
Not once have I ever been able to "legitimately" received the molerat fat quest. Nor have I ever been able to get Rukar to win Bottom's Up.
I must say I enjoyed searching for Dragon Eggs in the caves or hunting down the Orc Generals around Khorinis :D
As far as i know. you don't need to use any spell. Just replace gin with water :)
strange little guy
09.12.2006, 07:49
at a certain point of the day (or night) Rukar is sitting on the bench outside of the tavern.
Then: just walk into the tavern.
When you stand infront of the chest.
start sneaking, and switch the gin with the water.
Nobody besides Rukar cares if you take something from the chest, so it doesn't matter if the other people spot you.
strange little guy
09.12.2006, 09:12
when you want to buy the farming clothes from lobart,
you can do this as a quest to get the clothes at a better price. just go talk to vino,
he'll give you the quest to get some wine for him.
Then you go and buy him some wine.
and there you go: quest solved :)
strange little guy
09.12.2006, 14:16
oh *slaps head*
this isn't the quest they are talking about!
I think they mean: that in the forest near jack light house there's a cave. Inside you'll find a gate,
with a switch to open it nearby.
The switch needs to be smeared with molerat fat to function.
inside the gate you'll find a "lab" to make wine.
inside the "lab" i think there was a diary of some sort,
and it appears it's Vino's.
I think that's how you start the quest,
I don't actually remember though, it maybe wrong

I encountered the quest in chapter 5 :)
The Eye Of Innos! In Gothic3 it is gone!!I kno tht tthe ship is stollen by pirates, but it would be verry sad tht The Eye Of Innos, the most important thing in Gothic2 to be lost!!I didnt get verry far in Gothic3,but maybe the amulet reapears:D :D I wish Gothic was real!!!§danke :D :D :D §danke

eye of innos

i need a ship
proof for lord hagen
almanac of the possesed
that's my favorite quests in gothic series
The Preserver
14.12.2006, 22:51
In Gothic 1 I liked the Orc Cemetery quest, and finding the ore armor.
For gothic 2 I really liked the exploration of Jharkendar. I liked figuring out all the history, finding Raven, and of course joining the pirates. It's a shame there are no pirates in Gothic 3 :D

I like this quest ,too.there is a lot of adventure there.Especialy when you need to find those colourfull stone tablets:D .
The most humilieting quest...I don't think that is one of that kind. All missions are cool.I saw that someone sayed that the quest when u need to clean the novices' chamber was humuliating. But,if u don't do is,the game cannot continue...So,every quest is importand;) (grat speech:P)

I realize this, but... From my understanding there is an actual quest that you get from Akil's sons. I believe it is in chapter 5 and one of them HAS to win. The problem I always face is that after they fight, the one kills the other and they are all pissy afterwards.
One of the sons has molerat grease orrrrr... you can sneak on the ship in the harbor to get some. It's in the lower level. Opening the locked grate with the grease yields you +400 xp :D
I'm just curious if there is an actual quest for it or not.

G1-Orc Cemetery, was great quest , it's my favourite!!
MineCrawler Nest, is very good quest too!
Finding Xardas, there was cool to fight those golems!
Find Ur-Shak, this quest was kinda cool!!(i dont remember really the quests name but i had to find Ur-Shak!
G2-How to get in Khorinis, it's cool because there are a lot of ways how you can get in Khorinis!
Path of Believers, was interesting quest!
Thieves guild, was nice!
Cant remember any more quests! :D
the most interesting.....in g1 finding xardas and destroy his golems and the creation of the ulu-mullu....:D

Gothic 1... well, my favourite quests are pretty much all the ones you do before having to join any camp... and later... it's the old, abandoned mountain residence Lester helps you search when looking for the focus stones.
Of course another favourite is the self-given quest "Screw over Gomez by cleaning out his tower storage".
Lest favourite? The Chromanin. It's fun, don't get me wrong, it's just unbelieveably creepy...
In Gothic 2 my absolute favourite is completing the crew and the Novice quests in the Fire Mage monastery. And the whole of Jarkendar when we're taking NOTR into account.
Least favourite was visiting the old Xardas' tower.
So far in Gothic 3 I most love the Vengard urban combat... a truly epic episode, in which you feel the destruction and death around you, and you can feel how much sorrow the siege causes... the burnt out outer ring... shallow graves in courtyards... and each Orc you slay in the name of Innos redeems one soul lost in the siege.
Not to mention the accomplishment as you walk, not run, walk into the Throne Room as a victor, after killing the five Orc leaders within the city.
Least favourite are the mazes below the ancient temples. Really, I HATE the undead.
yep mine are all the quests b4 u join a clan
For me the best quest from Gothic 2 was the test of fire and the other little quests which are sonme sort funny, dragon hunt is fun only when you are mano a mano to the dragon;:) but Biff and magic are good help:D
Gothic 1..-Stranger,focus stones, when you have to find Xardas is very interesting, and i liked much when i fought 1 vs 1 with Gomez!
In Gothic 1 the "Join the Old Camp" quest, the "focus stones" and above all the quest "Find Xardas".
In Gothic 2 i really loved the first quests in Khorinis.
G1:
-joning New Camp
-find the Focus Stones
-and i love to kill all the orcs from their city
G2:
-joning mercenaries
-get a crew for Irdorath
G3:
-till now, the one with Demon of Gotha and the fights from Vengard
I always like these quests, which you have to do, to be accepted in a guild or community...
Most interesting quest for me is:
- It isn't really a quest but it is at the end of Gothic I when you get the protalrune to the Old Camp(it's the quest where you can make your armor better if you get the blacksmith out of the jail)... you have to kill everybody in the castle!
I think this is the best and most exciting quest of Gothic I
-Gothic II: I like the Quest were you have to kill the Black Trull...

quests which require me searching for persons rule. i getr to explore the entire map:D
G1: Chromanin (as already said).
Most humiliating quest: can't decide between getting beaten up by Kharim and still being accepted in the Old Camp and telling Whistler you couldn't get his sword...
G2: Test of Fire. It took me weeks to find the cave of the path of believers.
Most humiliating quest: not taking the Eye of Innos to Irdorath, especially after talking to Milten... :D

For G3 the most interesting quests for me were:
The Temples and The Demon of Gotha (I was insanely impressed by that quest) :D
The most satisfying quest (for me personally) was the drinking contest in Gothic 2. At first I had no clue what to do and I failed horribly. Then I began piecing together different leads, although I failed a few times more. After a while I figured out what needed to be done. managed to do it and anxiously awaited the results. When I finally won the contest, it really felt like an accomplishment and I was so proud of myself to have solved it without the help of walkthrough's or anything :)
The Stranger form G1,and in G2 thiefes's quests.
... to be purely honest every single quest in G1 and G2 (haven't played G3) is something new and challenging... i just like them all! :)
A.That's true.§danke Although there must be a quest that you prefer more than the other quests.
B.Yep, I also haven't played g3 yet.§cry But I read the walktrough and IMO the quests are also very good and interesting.§danke Search the walktrough and you'll see.;)
A.Yes, that's true... Here's a 'little' list with my most prefered quest.
-Joining the Old Camp: (my first and biggest quest in Gothic) it took me like a month untill i got first into Chapter 2 and i was like:
-Mineclawers' Nest: When i got in their nest i killed them all with no mercy 'cause they really caused problems to the diggers. I still remember my reaction when i heard from a digger (the one that sells lockpicks) that i should be aware of the mineclawers and dark holes...
-Thiefes' Guild: just liked to join them :D
-Dragon Hunt: i loved hunting dragons as a Dragon Hunter :D
etc. :p
B.Not even "wild horses could drag me"(Wolf's quote in G2 when u suggest him to go to town to fnd a job :p) to do that. I still know nothing about G3, and it will remain so untill i play it.:)
The most interesting quest for me in gothic series was to find the Necromancer sunken tower. I didn't knew what sunken means when I played gothic 1, so I had to look an entire day :(.
Then my big brother helped me §ice.
The quest that is given to you by the Monastery members, is An interesting one too.
I needed a lot of time to finish the last test "Follow the path of Innos and bring what the believer finds", or something like this.
I just couldn't find that cave, until a friend from forum.jowood.com shown me the way §ice§knutsch§klatsch

I could write a great number of quests, the test of fire, the searching for the focus stones, the searching for the artifacts of Adanos, and many more...
But i think it was that strange sword i found in Sleeper 's temple that made me loose my sleep! Remember ? It had the name Uriziel on it...
Really, it took me some time to understand that i would go out and see Xardas...
Oh, i 'm sorry, i just remembered of something else: in G2, when you search for Diego! I was afraid he died, when i saw all these dead bodies in the mine, but he wasn't there, and then i had this thought " our cave! " and i run to find him...
And in G1 when you must find Xardas and actually talk to him...
Oh, there are so many of them, i can 't choose just one, i 'm sorry.

And in G1 when you must find Xardas and actually talk to him...
I've been thinking about this topic's question every now and then without coming up with a most interesting quest. But you nailed it! My friend, from whom I first learned of Gothic, had spoken of this cool magician Xardas and whenever he was mentioned in the game, he was always shrouded by mystery... so finally going to see him was really exciting.
Sadly, the orc lands turned out to be a lot less dangerous and hostile than I'd thought. Xardas' tower on the other was really well made. The music, the ominous flapping of the demons' wings... spooky.

Yeah it was really great and the quest you had to do to speak with him (to kill the Golems) really great, maybe the best part of the story in G1....
The most interesting quests:Dragon Hunt, the Seekers, the Stranger,Bottoms Up(an insignificant quest but funny and realistic),Evidence and from g1 all of them,g3-haven't plaied it yet.
Interesting: G1: Focus search, G2: Haven't played, damn CD blew up (Damn sellers), G3: Liberate Trelis(somehow interesting)
Humiliating: G1: Getting Baal Tyon his ''Preserved Dreamcall'', G3: Urkrass' goods. F*ck Urkrass!
As for the most interesting quest, for me it was Dragon Hunt in G2 and(I don't know why) getting recipe from Cor Kalom to Dexter in G1:)
Most interesting quest- Searching for focus stones in G1!
