Should i buy Dungeon Siege 3

I'd say... play a demo or something.

The old devs are gone; DS 3 was developed by some Japanese guys, if I remember correctly.

Far be it from me to downplay on the efforts of our Asian friends, but there might be huge style discrepancies. At the very least, watch some videos on youtube.

It's developed by Obsidian. Don't know exactly what to think of DS3, since I haven't played it, but most of the reviews, coming from players or professional journalists, are pretty much negative. What I know is that DS3 is very different from its predecessors, and that computer controls are horrible. Try a demo, just like Faby said, and decide whether you like it or not.

I never really cared for the predecessors either, ok for a little while but they get boring really fast unless you just like bashing things.

Yup, mostly because Diablo used sprites whereas DS used 3d models.

I played the first Dungeon Siege, Legends of Aranna I think it was called ... In that one the characters were almost nonexistent ... It was all just mindless hack-and-slay.

Legends of Aranna was the sequel to the first DS, and I believe it also had the original DS included on the disks as well. One of my install disks got corrupted somehow so I can't install Legends of Aranna anymore, but it's no big loss.

On-topic, Dungeon Siege 2 was my very first PC game. It was a very good diablo/sacred/divine divinity clone and I loved it. How they managed to fuck DS3 up so much is beyond my understanding.

What kind of a question is that?

Well it's actually a pretty good one if there is no demo of the game which you can try.
If there is a demo - download it, play the game and decide for yourself.
If there is not - search for a video where they show gameplay and what the game actually is, and then decide.
