I've had a ton of problems since the new patch. I couldn't even get the game to start. Most I've sorted myself just by verifying the integrity of my game files (Steam Version). However, even though now the game will indeed start... I've got quite a few problems still.

Animations: NPCs don't have any. The "float" around with their arms spread wide and legs stiff as boards.

Texture issues?: Rocks, trees, plants, you name it are all solid black making the entire world VERY dark. Also, treasure chests and anything with the "sparkle" effect flicker (as in disappear and reappear very fast) as well as being very dark, including Holy.

So yeah, I've tried messing with all the settings... this is the only game this has happened and it is only since the new patch. Help?

Seems I'm not the only one who's" issues" thanks to the update :S. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate updates but I'm left wondering if this remvoed more bugs then it seems to have introduced.

Ok you're the third having problems with the steam version and the copy protection removal patch for steam. Is it possible to uninstall the patch with a steam version? Since the bugs removed wheren't big issues and it realy was more about removing the copy protection which steam doesn't seem to like.
Seems something got messed up while converting the patch for steam and it might take them a while to fix this, especialy since we have easter holidays in germany.

No your not LOL. If you ever read the Steam forums a lot of folks are having issues. I can't post on those forums though because they suck and I've been waiting for "posting approval" for 2 days now.

Ah there are more. That is good in a way that the bugs are easily reproduced. Any other error messages or patch-work solutions on these forums? If there are please post them here, so the developers can see them which also might help in fixing this fast.

I haven't seen any other solutions posted. Someone named Poet seems to be trying to handle the Steam forums. I've only seen one person post the same issue I have though. Most are crash issues and errors like Gwyndion is having.

FIX

I've fixed the issue just by turning off the "Quality Renderer" option. I left "PostProcessing" and "Refraction" options both on and everything finally cleared up. I hope that helps someone.

Also, as I stated I WAS getting Error messages. If anyone else is make sure to "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" in Steam under the games Properties. It cleared those right up for me.

(Right click name of game in Steam Library > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache)
