I wish that was true, but to be honest, they disemboweled it, took turns at crapping in the newly made cavity, and stuffed the whole thing into the TES CS at 250°C for five minutes, resulting in an half baked cadaver full of shit.

Personally I enjoyed Fallout 3. They did a good job of capturing the feel of a scarred world. Mind you, I wasn't a fan of everything they did with it, and it never had the narrative depth of 1 or 2, but the post-apocalyptic atmosphere there, and it was fairly entertaining throughout.

I guess, if we take exception to most settlements literally tearing my suspension of disbelief apart.

There's lack of narrative depth, and then there's making absolutely no freaking sense, not if you take common sense into account, not from the standpoint of the classic universe and its pseudoscience, and not even when you consider it as its own game. Everything in the game is there purely for the LULZ like an old South Park episode, except I'm not laughing with it.

If we take exception to that and the fact that many fans of the first two went into the third determined to hate it ^^.

This is getting admittedly OT, but such as? Most Fallout science and technology is absurd. So much has been the case for all titles in the series, so I can't really see your point with the pseudoscience thing.

What I meant is exactly that the Fallout science and technology was absurd, while Fallout 3 is absurd and inconsistent in every way, even in respect to itself. And yes, I've been here four years and I am still off-topic most of the time. I'm terrible.

Ahh. My primary complaint with it is how prominently Super Mutants feature in the Capital Wasteland. The FEV experiments at Mariposa were intended to be exclusive to the West Coast, and how they were presented/explained here just irked me. Given the freedom of a whole new setting, it shouldn't have been too hard to come up with something else.

Other than that, I don't recall too many glaring inconsistencies, besides certain plot devices besides the aforementioned which I thought were stupid. To each their own, but to me it was fun.

Imo, Far Cry 2 makes a better Fallout 3.

Amen. We should have it as a countdown, just like we did with Gothic 3.

But Gothic 3 left us like '' '' that when we played it. (Because of the bugs)

So we should hope it won't be the same.

o rly? It's funny how selective memories get to be when it comes to the soap opera that has been the story of the past few Gothic titles.

It wasn't just the bugs, we had bugs in the previous Gothic games too, it was the game itself that was lame.

Well, at least I got the original, unpatched version of G3. :P
And comparing that from what I've heard/seen of Götterdämmerung, G3 is flawless.

For me the game wasn't lame at all. But it was allmost impossible to play on my rig back then. It took 8 minutes to load and the ingame fps was terrible. Even in those conditions i played and kinda enjoyed it. Since then I finished it I think 5 times (last time though on a very different computer which ran the game smooth).

And now I can't wait for that CSP to play it again.

    Wasn't that posted in here?

Tudor is right, it seems that the BVT wants it piece of the cake, since many/some parts of the addon was created with the money of bvt, ... and that material what is now used for the addon was (partly) just cutted out of the main game to have content for the addon.
I've heard that some pissed fans found and collected material of the addon in the main game data (unpacking the data of the main game and/or cheating -> free fly, videos are/were on youtube), documented those foundings very well and send it to bvt.
I guess BVT wouldn't have found out about this by themselfs.

Other updates on this matter, ... well, 2 days ago on the boerse-express forum it was like a meeting of ex-jowood workers who started to slightly reveal their frustration, ... it was said that they were threatened with being fired when they don't agree to the decisions the bosses decide, was a funny read, ... and suddenly it was deleted.

    To the main topic:

A sad story about dilettantism, megalomaniacal and greediness which i hope comes soon to the well deserved end.
