    Post [спойлер] Arcania - бестиарий

Вот каких противников мы сможем повстречать в Аркании (англ.):

    Molerat
Molerats are rodents with a light-pink skin that is the result of a life spent underground, or in caves and shady woods. They live on trash and are thus often found close to human settlements. Their flesh is edible and molerat fat is a useful alchemical ingredient.
    Bear
All kinds of different boars live on Argaan. The Common Boar is larger than a wolf and is a highly territorial animal. The typical Argaan boar fights with its large tusks, solid enough to penetrate even heavy armour. Wild boar are mostly found in woods and fields. When fighting boars it is essential to evade their storm attacks and swiftly counter the blow. Black Boars and the Ripper are related to the Wild Boar.
    Wolf
Wolves are among the most common predators of Argaan. They are social creatures that live in packs, and while a single wolf might not be a great danger to a human, a whole pack is a great risk even to the most experienced hunter. Wolves are carnivorous and spend most of their lives in their marked territories. If a stranger intrudes on their territory, they will attack without hesitation.
    Green Goblin (goblin)
Green goblins are small humanoid creatures with green, leathery skin that offers some protection against weather and weapons. They are quite agile and prefer to live in warm caves and in clearings close to trade routes. Goblins go hunting and are cunning enough to rob lonesome travellers. Equipped with clubs and old armour, they surround their victims and overwhelm them by attacking from all sides at once. Goblins are quite intelligent and much smarter than any animal. Green goblin leaders are always better equipped and armoured than their mates.
    Coastal Goo (Coast Crawler)
Coastal Goos actually consist of slug-like parasites that have attached themselves to sea turtles. Eventually, they consume the host turtle, becoming stuck inseparably to its carapace. With this almost perfect camouflage they hide in turtle colonies and prey on their unsuspecting victims. All goo parasites are carnivorous, and do not have a preferred prey. Their cunning makes them very dangerous to careless travellers. Shore Slimes and Sea Sludges are related to Coastal Goos.
    Bloodfly
Bloodflies are large flying insects armed with a poisonous spike. They are usually found in large swarms in swamps, but can also be found in grasslands. Their distinct sense of smell enables them to detect their prey despite their underdeveloped visual organs. Bloodfly swarms surround their victims and overwhelm them with a multitude of attacks. Once incapacitated, they extract their victim's bodily fluids, which are their main source of food. The bloodfly is related to the lake wasp, the muck wasp and the bone hornet.
    Field Raiders
The field raiders got its name thanks to the corn fields they usually live on. Field raiders have only few natural enemies, but often get in trouble with farmers whose harvest they devour. The population of field raiders very much depends on the size of the field. The animals primarily live on corn, but if necessary they also turn to herbs. They usually fight with their front limbs, but they are also known for storm attacks ramming their opponents. Field raiders are not very agile, which can be used against them. Field harrier and field razer are related to the field raider.
    Crawlers (Field Crawlers)
Crawlers are distant relatives of the minecrawlers. They are nasty claw-armed little insects with surprising strength for their size. They live in harmony with giant insects of all kinds and build underground nests to lay their eggs. Crawlers are known for their ability to dig themselves in and lurk for their victims. If a victim approaches their underground hideout, they rapidly jump out at it. They do not even shy away from creatures a few times their own size.
    Loam Vermin (Root Parasite)
Loam vermin are large insects living underground. Armed with claws and mandibles they can even be dangerous to a strong human. When left alone they are not very aggressive and live on roots and plants, which again can cause considerable damage to trees and useful plants. As their wounded body parts recover extremely quickly, loam vermin swarms are difficult to defeat. They seem to be distantly related to field raiders.
    Scavenger
Scavengers eat plants as well as carrion. Usually they live on wide plains and in sunny woods. Despite their comparably harmless appearance they shouldn't be underestimated. As for several generations now they have been the favoured prey of certain predators, they have developed effective defence mechanisms. Alone, scavengers are not a great danger, but they usually live in small packs.
    Lizard (Green Lizard)
Common lizards are large brown-green reptiles with scaly skin. These aggressive carnivores have enormous strength and are always on the lookout for prey, killing it with their mighty jaws or poisonous breath. Despite their clumsy looking exterior they can be surprisingly fast.
    Fire Lizard
Fire lizards are massive carnivores with a love for extreme heat, thus they are only found in very hot areas. They are highly aggressive and always out for food. They have the strong jaws of the common lizard, but get their name from their ability to spit fire. Many adventurers underestimate the danger of fire lizards and deeply regret it. Fire lizards are not only strong fighters, but also very quick for their size. The greatest weakness of these animals is their dislike of cold.
    Crystal Spider (Frost Crystal)
From a distance, the crystal spider looks like a lifeless heap of crystals and ice blocks. Only by looking closer will you detect its true nature. You can find crystal spiders in cold caves and ruins, where they live undisturbed. They only rarely leave their icy homes, as they can't deal with heat. When disturbed, crystal spiders attack intruders with their magic frost breath, causing bad injuries. They don't seem to be natural creatures, but their origin is unknown.
    Snapper
Snappers are carnivores living in humid areas like swamps and jungle forests. They do not have a favourite prey and almost always hunt in groups. Their advantage is the great speed with which they chase their prey. Snappers are related to Razors.
    Shadowbeasts
Shadowbeasts are loners, mainly living in woods and mountain ranges. They prefer to stay in caves. Popular belief is that they are night-active, but nobody has ever seen a sleeping Shadowbeast, as they have extremely keen senses. Shadowbeasts don't shy away from attacking much larger opponents or larger groups of humans. They attack their prey with their paws and horns. Despite their size, they are very agile and quick and can knock over careless victims with ease.
    Skeleton
Skeletons are undead creatures called back to life by the dark art of necromancy. Bits of memory from their former lives enable the skeletons to fight with weapons. As they do not have any other conscience, they fall back to behaviour patterns and actions they used to perform when still alive. The are resistant to Lightning Bolts, but burn longer than living creatures and are easier to freeze.
    Zombie
Zombies are corpses called back to life by dark magic. Driven by a ceaseless hunger they throw themselves brainlessly at anything alive crossing their path. They are slow and clumsy, but very tough and almost unstoppable in larger groups.
    Minecrawler Worker
Minecrawlers belong to the most dangerous creatures on Argaan. Minecrawler workers don't count among the largest of their species, but they are still enormously strong. Their natural realm are the caves that they keep enlarging and that they defend vehemently. If they track down an intruder, minecrawler workers will attack it mercilessly. They do this partly by digging themselves in with incredible speed and approaching their victims underneath the surface. Then they dig themselves out in a flash and ambush the intruder. Minecrawlers have a very strong natural chitin armour, which is sometimes used as an exotic raw material.
    Minecrawler Soldier
Minecrawler soldiers are distinctly larger and more powerful than the workers, and are the protectors of the minecrawler nest. Minecrawlers will fight to the death to defend their queen.
    Swampshark
Swampsharks are giant annelids living in swamps. Their long, 'stretched' bodies are covered with little appendages and on the backside, also with horns. Their heads end in a huge mouth, consisting of three jaws with countless sharp teeth. Swampsharks do not have eyes, but they are far from sightless - to track their prey they use their extremely good sense of hearing. Eye witnesses report swampshark attacks that seem to come out of nowhere. The swampshark combines enormous strength with stamina and cunning, making it a very dangerous enemy.
    Stone Golem
Stone golems are magic creatures of stone and clay. Because of their consistency they are terrifying fighters who can throw heavy rock boulders and knock out enemies within range of their enormous fists. They resist electricity, but can be fought with heat and cold.
    Fire Golem
The bodies of fire golems consist of hot lava and volcanic stone held together by pure magic. They do not know fear and they feel neither pain nor fatigue, which makes them highly persistent and dangerous enemies. In battle they use their superhuman power to throw large rocks and can knock out enemies within range of their enormous fists. Because of their nature they are quite resistant to heat, but can be fought with cold.
    Ice Golem
Ice golems are magic creatures consisting of water frozen to rock-solid ice. They usually live in the vicinity of ice fields and glaciers. Ice Golems do not know fear and feel neither pain nor fatigue, which makes them highly persistent and dangerous enemies. In battle they use their superhuman power to throw large rocks, and can knock out enemies within range of their enormous fists. Because of their nature they are highly resistant to cold, but can be fought with heat.
    Demon Lords
Demon Lords are the leaders of the demonic hordes. Although of equal nature and origin as their underlings, the utterly fearless Demon Lords are far more powerful than any of their common brothers. Extreme cold is the one thing that promises to be of some use in fighting a Demon Lord, though it's hard to think of anything that could seriously endanger a creature as powerful as this.
    Demons
Demons are some of the most powerful creatures in the known world. These magical creatures are exceptionally tough and lethal both in melee and magic. They are a serious danger to any other creature. Extreme cold is the one thing that promises to be of some use in fighting a Demon. Their exact origin is uknown, but it is assumed that Demons are creatures of Beliar.
    Troll
Trolls live in clearings close to mountains wide enough to hold their enormous size. Trolls eat everything from berries to wolves. They attack with their fists, swing at their prey or knocking it down with seismic shocks. Angry trolls also throw anything their paws can get hold of. Fortunately they are rather slow, so swift fighters can evade their attacks - one hit from a troll can be near lethal.
    Lurker
Lurkers are amphibians that can also walk on their hindlegs. They have ridiculously long arms, necks and tails and live at sea or on lake shores. Lurkers are not aggressive by themselves but very quickly feel threatened, so it's better to stay away from them. The Lurker is related to the Prowler.
    Ice Skeleton
Ice skeletons are undead creatures called back to life by the dark art of necromancy. A blue shine is said to light up their chests. Some faint memories from their former life enable them to fight with weapons, but as they do not have any conscience other than this they tend to fall back on familiar behaviour from when they were alive. They are resistant to Lightning Bolts and ice, but cannot stand fire.
    Fire Skeleton
Fire skeletons are undead creatures called back to life by the dark art of necromancy. A red shine is said to light up their chests. Some faint memories from their former life enable them to fight with weapons, but as they do not have any conscience other than this they tend to fall back on familiar behaviour from when they were alive. They are resistant to fire and lightning, but cannot stand ice. They stay frozen for a longer time than other skeletons.
    Skeleton Paladin
Skeleton Paladins are undead creatures called back to life by the dark art of necromancy. Some faint memories from their former life as paladins enable them to fight very dexterously with weapons, but as they do not have any conscience other than this they tend to fall back on familiar behaviour from when they were alive. They are resistant to lightning, but do burn longer as other creatures and are easier to freeze.
Orc Warriors of the Bonebreaker Tribe - Low Orc Warrior (Low Orc Warrior)
The Orc-Warriors of the Bonebreaker Tribe belong to the Argaan Orcs, a simple, uncivilized Orc-type living all over Argaan. Contrary to their brothers the Silverlake Orcs, the Orc-Warriors of the Bonebreaker Tribe are anything but peace-loving. They fight like animals with raw brutality, and cause devastating damage with their simple weapons. With their extra armour, they can be a serious challenge to any unsuspecting adventurer.
    Orc Shaman (Low Orc Shaman)
Amongst the Argaan Orcs there are shamans who can weave simple healing spells and are highly respected. The Shamans of the Bonebreaker Tribe escort the warriors of their tribe to war, cheering them with wild shouting. Nevertheless, they try their best to stay in the background and support their warriors with healing spells as best they can.
    Nordmar Orc (High Orc)
Originating from Nordmar on the continent, after the last war against the humans they fled to Argaan. Contrary to their Argaan cousins, the Nordmar Orcs are highly civilized, trained warriors that have won many a battle. They own high-class armour and weapons that they use in battle expertly. The Nordmar Orcs despise humans and will look for arguments with them.
    Black Goblin
Black goblins are small humanoid creatures with blackish, leathery skin which offers a certain protection against weather and weapons. They are quite agile and prefer to live in warm caves and in clearings close to trade routes. Goblins are hunters and are also cunning enough to rob lonesome travellers. Equipped with clubs and old armour, they surround their victim and overwhelm it by attacking from all sides simultaneously. Goblins are quite intelligent and much smarter than any animal. The black goblins are distinctly more aggressive that the green ones. Their leaders are always better equipped and armoured than their mates.
    Goblin Shaman
Amongst the goblins are highly respected shamans with magic capabilities, although it seems no goblin shaman knows more than one spell. But to the advantage of their tribe-mates, they know how to make good use of their spell, and have done for many an adventurer.
    Ahn'Bael
The Ahn'Bael are the handmaidens of the double-headed goddess, whose dark side they embody. The Ahn'Bael used to be ordinary women, but a dark ritual they undertook changed them. An Ahn'Bael is half woman, half demon. They have horns, wings and clawed hands, and they know a large number of spells. There is not much known about the Ahn'Bael, except that they follow their high-priestess Xesha fanatically, despite her being held in a death-like sleep for centuries.
