But.. how should I put it, the looks might be nice but at the core of gameplay it's really a rpg lite. Nothing fancy really, another BioWare game with nice cinematic feeling.

I can agree this is somewhat true for Mass effect 1.
However mass effect 2 is much better. The big improvement is combat pacing (in reality when you're doing missions). There's more of them, but not so long missions, not being so stretched out. It's however the pace in the missions that's been very much improved. After playing Modern warfare 2 campaign, I can say it's really well paced. Mass effect is amateurish in comparison, and although Mass effect 2 can't really compare with MW2, it's still much better than the first (especially driving the vehichle was booorging). Another thing is taking cover, which generally works quite well, and commading your team members.
Your experience will probably greatly depend on what playstyle you've chosen. I chose soldier, most versatile. Preferably using sniper, using adrenaline rush, and then go for headshot. Would instantly kill most enemies you encountered. If to close for sniper, I usually used assault rifle.
I like the adrenaline rush thing. Slowing down world around you. Played F.E.A.R. and I suck at shooting without it (to slow)
Story could be handled better though. Plot in itself was okay, nothing spectacular though. The problem was that almost all missions were about helping or getting a team member. They could have used more variety. Also unexpected encounters (like in KOTOR being dragged on to Malak's ship).
Yes, it's another bioware, but in ME2 they've handled the other parts like gameplay pacing quite well. DAO however is horrible on this.

Don't be fooled by this picture. It is newly released, and neither is it a strategy game like total war.
It is a third person game (can see first person look to). You control one guy in this medieval game. You can play singleplayer, where you start small, and can eventually raise a large army. In battle you control your own guy, but can give commands to the others.
Combat is physics based, and quite good to. Especially the mounted part.
You can also play multiplayer with up to 64 players.

Graphics aren't that bad, and if it had better, you would have a problem with large battles, as every single unit acts independently, and it's physics based, it requires much of your cpu to calculate everything. At 300 units my computer would lag as hell, with the original M&B, and that had much worse graphics.

Simply amazing, I can't get enough of this masterpiece, Space stage is simply awesome and captivating.

I really dig Games about space and going to other planets, I know Mass Effect is something of this kind, but I don't know any other games, I would be glad if u guys can suggest me some more.

But till then Spore is simply breathtaking

Warband. It's cool to start as an adventurer and come to own an elite army and forts and such, and battles are pretty freaking realistic for a rpg/rts.

GTA: Episodes From Liberty City

I didn't even know this was out for the PC, but when I happened upon it in a store, and at a cheap price to boot, I decided to buy it right away. Currently I'm playing The Lost And The Damned. It's just GTA IV with new characters, a new plot and some other additions, taking place in the same world as GTA IV. Fun, but ultimately probably rather short-lived.
