I started playing again Gothic 1 and since I still haven't beaten in(hardcore mode),why not try again?

Yeah, the basic idea is that story overhauls are a no-no, at least for the moment. I'd say that some mods which add minor story elements, such as a few new quests and at the most a minor new storyline that doesn't undo the existing one and doesn't add any new areas, is acceptable (Blood Night would in my mind be the most extreme example I would consider acceptable). However, if people are interested, I could add a new category into the HC challenge lists which would be for all three games played with "heavy" mods.

Chapter 4, second dragon. Lvl 25, mage. I did make 1 mistake tough and that was saving after i killed the first dragon and then proceeding gameplay. Isn't such a big deal i hope

Saving whilst playing is not against the rules; what would be against the rules would be to load something else than your last save when resuming playing, returning to an older save because you don't like how the game was going etc.

Okay, with the recent release of CP 1.7, I've started another G3 game. I'm playing with normal difficulty, but since I have alternate balancing and the new AI activated, things shouldn't get too easy.

I've played to level 13 now and so far I'm very pleased with the new patch. Melee combat is much better now (though still inferior to G2). Yet another proof that Forsaken Gods is a pile of shit: even though it's an official add-on made by a team of professionals, it's attempt at fixing the combat system is ridiculously bad compared to what the CP team has come up with in their free time.

After dealing with the orcs in Ardea, I went to beat up Lester only to discover that 1) defeating single NPCs is much harder now and 2) Lester doesn't have the temple key at the start of the game anymore. I then proceeded to do the usual starting quests (but wisely omitting to try beating up the orc captain at the pig farm between Reddock and Kap Dun) and was pleasantly surprised at the arena fights. They were a lot more challenging and interesting now, but still very manageable at medium difficulty even without any combat training (apart from investing 30LP into life).

Try it on hard.On hard you will barely be able to kill the first orc in Ardea.

That's exactly why I'm not playing on hard.

Playing 1.6 on hard was already very challenging in CP 1.6, but with 1.7 and alternate balancing it's bound to be almost impossible.

I actually enjoy the current Hard scene immensely.
This time the Orcs are actually ORCS. Twice the size, double the strenght of a comparative human. They won the war, its not like they should be weak.

If 1 on 1 against an orc is desperate, at low levels then the game has taken a huge leap towards the earlier gothics. And that is brilliant.

Time for an update.

I've played some more and I'm now level 23 and I'm close to getting mana regeneration now (those mana potions do cost quite a lot). I've done most of the quests in Montera and Silden and some of the quests in Geldern and Trelis. So far pretty standard stuff and no near-death experiences yet.

That is possible. After formatting my computer I don't have the tools installed yet, but I'll amend the script and the database to fit this during the easter holidays at the latest.

Lvl 32, chapter 5, mage. On the way back from the VoM after CH4 i AGAIN decided to sight-see. This time it went wrong in a different way, Fraps didn't work just when i was standing on that mountain .

Anyway, broke my record and now killing some extra beats and doing some extra quests here and there in CH5.

Gothic 3 - 1.7 with AB / Alt-AI. Diffuculty: Hard

Im currently on level 8 cleared Ardea, found Reddock (wow! :O), Kicked everyones ass on local arenas, beated Top-Orc for Kliff but did not take him along yet.
Now sitting in Cap-Dun and pondering my next move.

Will put up screenshot when there is something worth seeing!
You all know how the level < 10 drill goes, so nothing new here.
