Try it with the gothic-starter 2.6a, download:

And make sure you start the gothic-starter out of the game/system folder, and not from the desktop or such.

There is a hidden switchplate left of the door of the old building, press it, then the story moves on.

- The "weapon" is a rune, which is also in the old building (hidden).

Where is the bold and the italic text is the problem.There should have been 00,then 01 for the second line,then 03 for the third and so on.
