Hi guys. I just wanna confirm, is Huno supposed to have infinite steel? It seems I can make infinite money from the start of the game by buying 5 steel for 200 ore, making 5 crude swords and selling them for 250 ore, repeat. Is this true for the rest of you guys? or did I fail to apply some important patch or something?

(My game is patched with: gothic_patch_108k, g1icp_v1.0_setup (which I believe is the ironkeep patch), and inextremo_patch.)

Yes, that's true and there's no patch which fixed these error.

But you would spoil your whole game by abusing bugs like these.
It's much more fun to play the normal way.

abusing? You mean breaking into houses and robbing chests is fine, but it's not okay to make lots of money through honest, hard work?

lol no. Robbing chests is "wanted" from the game developers, since the loot in those chests are limited in total.
But buying steel from Huno, who never runs out of steel due to a bug, is not what the developers had in mind...

I mostly agree with you; IIRC, the first few times I played Gothic (yeeeeears ago) I noticed this too and stopped buying the steel to avoid making the game too easy. But by now the game isn't new enough for me to have the patience for the additional running back and forth at the start of the game, so I made enough ore to buy all the animal trophy skills in one go. It's not like money is the real source of challenge in that game anyway. (Not that it's particularly challenging in terms of combat either. I am playing G2NR now, and that is a different story.)
