And we see two more reviews in the storm!
Jason Chestnut for The Game Fanatics:
"We Liked:
Pretty to look at with lots of detailed and varied environments, pirate theme is well done, much easier to get into than the original Risen...it doesn't take long to get to the "good stuff".
We Disliked:
Combat system is just as clunky as its predecessor, against humans it can be fun and varied, against beasts its a mess. World doesn't feel as vast as the first game, Voodoo magic system feels tacked on."
TheGamersHub:
"Risen 2: Dark Waters offers players a great pirate game unlike any other – mind you there aren’t many others. The story is interesting and fun, with a variety of good scenarios that makes story progression enjoyable. Gameplay wise, Risen 2 offers a semi-open world with action RPG mechanics with each island being good in size with much to explore and discover. There is a great range of unique quests to complete on each island, and combat is versatile with the freedom of choice to become whatever the player wants to be. Presentation wise, Risen 2 isn’t the best looking game, but it gets the job done. And while the soundtrack supports great atmospheric effect and feel, its voice acting turns some believable characters into down-right laughable ones. Pirate themed games are hard to find these days, but Risen 2: Dark Waters is the remedy to this situation and offers a change in pace from the daily norm – but it probably isn’t suitable material for your pirate-obsessed kid."
