Gothic - The Movie

The T.M.T team has decided to make a movie about Gothic. You can watch their trailer starting from this day at this link .
The trailer is available in high-quality and low-quality. PB is supporting them with german speech files and with the scripts. The exciting part of this news is that they will hear what the community has to say about it. In shorter version the story-line will be guided by the german forum and starting from now by us(we're still waiting for a confirmation on this).
I posted the news on the main page(click my sig). More info you can read there. Watch the movie, say what you like and you might find your idea in the movie. ^^

I watched the film just now and i must say i liked it. As i don't understand German, i can't say anithing about the story. But the views are nice. Only ane thing - this episode when hero and Lester confront harpies is quite long, and maybe would be better if they had their weapon in hands.

the sight of the five companions (Gorn, Diego, Joe Doe, Milten & Lester) at the end of the trailer leave me speeachless. It was Beautiful, Big, Compleated.

Well the trailer looks good. I think the movie will be just fantastic.

About the ideas and the story, until someone says that they will inspire from the english community, I won't say nothing

It was a moment which i missed (now that i have seen that), in the game somehow, i mean, the friends together, knowing now they will face the evil, but they standing together as one, *start to dream about G3*

unfurtunely i don t understend germany language, so i don t now the dialogs use in trailer. if somebody will post the translation, at least in english, i thank you.

I know I am not in position to suggest anything, but showing in-game combats in a row is certainly not a thing to do, since it barely looks normal or believable. One or two hits per scene should be enough.

I could give my help with some english secondary voice-acting if you intend to do it, and obviously french subtitles.

No, this is a fan-project!!!
There are fans of gothic who made this really great work for free, fanwork at it´s best!
The whole film will come in "ingame" grafhic of gothic 1.
Maybe in time a bored Hollywood producer will check this!

Suggestions are welcomed! And of course you are in the position to give suggestions,... if the team will read this english part or not, there will be someone who let them know about your suggestions!

They use original speech-samples of the game for that.

I know, that's why I wrote "secondary". It happens sometimes when the film-makers add off-scenes that weren't in the game, like Halo PC, Far Cry, etc.
But apparently it is not the case here, so it is a non-issue.

Hmm...if they need another man they can count me as well. i would gladly help such a project in every way i can.

As for the story...i don't really have that much talent on this, maybe rekinu, godcrusher and others wich i can't remember right now can help...I don't want to be offensive on this but all these posts with : "great job" is helping them but if that's all we can say then...we're out of luck .
On the other hand we don't really know too much about their project too. All i saw was that trailer. Do they even have a main idea about what story they would like to make?

Since they only use voices from the game, I guess it is entirely based on the first Gothic, right ? Then they should have a pretty clear idea about the scenario. So basically, what they are asking is what ? What scenes to focus on and what scenes to ignore ? In what order they should appear ?

Ok I'm a little confused... Is this movie going to have a director, actors, and stuff? or will it be entirely clips from the Gothic I and II? Because it its an actually Movie and is just gameplay ... that is REALLY stupid. I mean really really dumb. I would say its good if its just a fan-film for kicks and if someone who was a really big fan did it on his own time. But if this "movie" involved people being hired, marketing, and people actually thought they would make money from this.... haha wow... big mistake....

I would not pay money for this. You can't even have "movie critics" for that. I would only watch it if i downloaded it for free. I mean, the plot's going to be the same... and its GAMEPLAY!!! Thats sad....

God I really hope the movie will not be like that trailer. Better not be just watching someone play gothic for us... If so, then I just died a little inside. The ONLY Exception is that it is just a fan club doing it on its own time for fun. ( sorry I dont know what the TMT team is)
