We (RGMT) have made a small mod for Gothic 1 - Golden Mod. The mod currects and supplements some quests:

- You can attack Free mine with guardsmen.
- You can work for bandits.
- You can walk in Abandoned mine.
- You can become a guru.
- You can learn alchemy.
- Other.

Hello, Nefarius!

first bugreport:

- installing is okay, in spite of the foreign letters
- no viruses :P

massive problem:
- cyrillic letters cannot be displayed by gothic (expect english version?)

this leads to massive problems with fundamental things like:

- chosing answers from the menue
- using the new alchemy skills
...
..
.
-> it also affects your modification negative.


Please transalte/ let somebody transalte your modifikation, otherwise, it woln't be played by too many fans in western Europe^^

PS: Can you avoid overriting old subtitle-data by your installation?
german users could keep the parts of the old game in german and your new parts in english...

EDIT: @superninja:
You need to watch out for your actual Version of Gothic - there are differences between 1.08 k and 1.08 h...
in any case... just try installing it... you may have to re-install Gothic afterwards, but i can't remind any further problems, that may be caused by a wrong update...

You have to select a folder with Gothic 1 and GMPK 1.08k.

Elite-Gardist, try to re-download English patch.

I have downloaded it already... maybe i made mistakes at the installation - do i have to remove the Patch first or can i simply overwrite it?

You can just overwrite it. My mistake was: The original file goldenmod.mod must be made before goldenmod_eng.mod.

Sadly, i don´t have the time right now to play this mod, but it really sounds great, and it also sounds like a little bit more than a "small" mod.

Have you exchanged the english-patch download-file?
(Because my first installation of that doesn´t work (i mean those not cyrillic-letters), but as i read in here to download it again, i did, and then it just went fine).

I have downloaded the mod and have much fun playing Gothic 1 again. But I have a tiny little problem. I cannot sleep within this mod! After lying down the only dialogue-option ist "end".

It's nice to hear that there are also mods which are not "Made in Germany" . Maybe it is a different gamplay... I have just downloaded the mod and I will play it now. Thanks for the English patch! I think without an English patch theere would not be much players...

I´ve posted the link to the mod also in the german modifications-forum. Now a guy want to know, if the mod will be released also in german-language.
My guess is, your team has no german-speaking members to do so, is this right?
And if this is so, then the next question is, do you have anything against that somebody translate the mod?
(I don´t know if there is somebody who wants to do this translation-work, anyway, i´m just asking.)
