3 new Arcania screenshots

The arcania.gamona blog posted a news about 3 new Arcania screenshots. They found it on Simul's site.
It could be that one of the screenshots shows Diego.

Wow, thanks for posting them.

Hmmm... kinda old, at least for what I was thinking about Diego. I also can't see a ponytail, but who knows, hairstyles can change. But the rest (mustache, face, bow) point to Diego.
His sleeve however, don't know what shader or whatever is responsible for it, but it looks like plastic, not made from natural fibers.



Is this an orchard? On terraces?


The trees there look too much in line.


Also, the sea pic... 6 months old.

Screen shots in general are cheap shots. They are of cut-scenes, and most demos of games are movie sequences. Cmon already, if the game is so far along, what about a mini-playable demo so us gamers can actually see what the game really is

Mega said that if a demo is about to be released it will be released close to the release date of the full game!

Also how many upcoming games have u seen publishing demos before reaching gold stage??
Personally not at all,except mmos!Even them have to reach at least beta stage to do so!Arcania is a single player game and it is still alpha stage.Which means they could change anything even now.

Diego looks exactly the same...But much older...You can feel that Arcania takes place 20 years after G3...

The hero looks really horrible...I wish they will change his stupid/emo/modern looking mug...He is completely out of place.
He looks like an emo college boy.

No.
The design of the hero is a mark of spellbound. If they would change the style, it would not be a part of the game. The vision would get some leaks because the vision from fans and spellbound didn't fit.

I bet there'll be seome mods for the hero, so I wouldn't worry about that. I'd worry more about the unbalanced engine and memory leaks again.

I would not worry about them too much.

If they do the thing even remotely by the book, the "logical" layer of the engine is one and the same on Xbox and PC. And given the Boxes extreme intolerance to memory leaks, those are unlikely to go unnoticed.

At the very most, we might get a DX-11 rendering back-end implemented but the purpose of it eludes me.
There are just a few critical components that can be done wrong here so the odds should be on our side.


In short, game will be stable and technically "nice" like all our modern happy console games.
Given the modern trends, get ready for dum-dee-dum-dums though.

That diego screenie put instantly a big smile on my face. Its just so great to see the old rascal again! I see that he still has his fine bow and likely he is full of plans how to fill one's pockets with gold.

Hopefully they really focus on his character because Diego was the first npc you met in gothic series and he was our nameless hero's mentor throughout g1 and g2. He must be devastated what became to his old friend. Would be wondefull if you could ask him about the colony days..the good old times

ps: The new hero has a really horrible hair style. Oh well maybe i get used to it but so far no luck with that...
