Announcing Community Patch 1.73
Surprise! there will be one more Community Patch.

The original reason for this was to offer the modders somewhat more and to add some tools which should help modders with their work. Still in the meantime the modkit for G3 and G3FG has been announced, we decided not to include any tools anymore.

Some of us have had a good mind to change some things which couldn't create anymore in previous CP 1.7x versions.

Release: estimated in September
Patch: Full-Patch only, NO Update-Patch

Changelog:

+ HDR Rendering.
+ Improved bloom effect.
- Bug corrected where audio system always cached out sound even if property said "no".
+ Some Info/Quest commands added.
- Saturas now also hands out his key when the hero first talks to him after exploring Al Shedim.
- Texture/Shadow/Light flickering (usually occurs on ATI HD4xxx serie cards) eliminated.
+ Leaf subsurface scattering (only with activated Rim Lighting and Shader 3.0)
+ Heat haze (at minimum Shader 2.0; always on; exception: few fire places because of recompiling the world).
- Mana recipe icon corrected.
- Faraway trees project terrain shadows corrected.

question: can i play it with my old saves or is it gonna be standalone again? if thats the case, i wouldnt bother to start all over again, not in this world

Previous 1.7x savegames are compatible with CP 1.73.

Hey RoiDanton ! (BTW I really like this name, associating king and Danton in the same name is very ironic ^^)

Anyway, I know that the questpack and the other things related to the added content is none of the CPT business, but can you tell us anuthing about an english release of the added quests?

It's not ironic. It is a name of a character in the scifi series Perry Rhodan.

As far as I know Humanforce has cancelled a translated questpack. He has some reasons for it but he didn't say it in detail.
I think that there is nobody who can translate all the stuff from German into English.

Actually I could.... But I haven't tried the questpack yet (I'm playing the german G3 with Cp 1.70). About the translations: About how much work are we talking when you say "all the stuff"?

I don't know how much work it is. I have to ask.
I think it would be a lot of lines of the stringtable.

If I am not interesting in modding and I can run the game fine and with no bugs with patch 1.72, should I bother installing the new one?

They were already paid by jowood when they first started their job on the game.But obviously that's not enough,they should be paid even by us.

Please ask. I like to know how much work it is before I decide to start to work on it or not. And even if it is a lot of work I could be the one to at least start it...

Could the CP team please correct the HUD and ingame menus in 16:9 mode, so they are square like in 4:3?
