Download Teaser Gothic 3 CP 1.70
WoG-Download Teaser
List of all known information about the Patch 1.70 until now:
- Estimated release date in march (when there will be no heavy problems again)
- Patch is only for original Gothic 3, not for the add-on
- Size: between 800-1000MB
- Contain all previous patch versions, including Patch 1.12
- Patch can installed over each version (but it is recommendable to make a complete new Gothic 3 installation)
- installed modifications must delete (or make a backup) before installing the patch because modifications will be not compatible with the Patch 1.70
- Patch is for all languages
- Begin a new game is a must
- Savegames from version 1.60 and before are not compatible and will be not shown in the menu
- around 700 changelog entries (with every small changes and world changes there are several thousands bugfixes)
- Sword sound, weather sounds
- Alternative Balancing (changes at items like weapons, armors, perks, magic etc.); can be switched on/off but after that restart the game; this balancing replaces not the original fight system but it is only alternative
- Hero can attack by 1-3 enemies in melee fight at the same time (depend on the difficulty); work only with activated alternave balancing
- new AI (new melee fight system); can also be switched on/off; opponents are much smarter and better
- increase performance (depend of the computer of the player)
- Release of Humanforce's quest package later (first in German, later in English)

SWEET
EDIT: I found a bug playing right now, I wanted to take a swim so I walked in the water and I kept on walking... I was walking under water.
This bug appeared next to one of the islands near the Varant.

Absolute cooldom. RoiDanton, are you trying to tell me, that I can actually achieve an in-game scene like the first one from this teaser, with all of it's reflections and stuff?
Suddenly, G3 looks actually nicer than Crysis. The graphics may not be that high-res, but the animation and everything is more fluent and life-like.
Truly amazing. "You took on a great challenge and you knocked it down. G3 was always considered to be one of the toughest game to fix. I am deeply impressed." (Reminds of anything? )

Is it possible to know what rig did the CPT use to capture this teaser?

So lets summon up what the teaser shows.
The first scene shows new NPC's placed in an empty area and a new (to me) wind sound.
Second scene I have no idea what is new.
Third scene no idea either.
Fourth scene is the waterfall sound.
Fifth scene is Diego's new and more accurate face.
Sixth scene shows new NPC's placed in an empty area.
So let's try to help my tiny brain and help me figure out the ones I can't find.

I think the second scene shows the sound of birds. Third the same.
EDIT: And it seems to me that Diego's head is a lot bigger than it was, giving him normal proportions. He looks thin again, not like a brute.

CP 1.70 Countdown
Great, Looks like Gothic 3 is shaping up to be the game it was supposed to be. Thank God we have people in the community who care enough to fix the problems in Gothic 3 that PB did'nt care enough to do.

Indeed, the anymation is more complex. Although not that easy to see, the impact will me huge while you walk through the forest, a more natural feeling.
Roi, you and the other CPT guys have manged to capture the Gothic feeling with this patch, meaning small details for a large impact.

I don;t know how much it was PB's fault. The game was released too early and without financial backup it is hard for a developer to repair a game.

1.70 Countdown
Not saying it was all PB's fault, but surely they had more money, resoureses, and knowledge on the game engine, than CP team to fix these problems. They after all are working on a new game so they are not broke.

Valfaris used Fraps to record the shots, and Nero 9 to edit and compile them to this teaser. He perfers to work with Magix Video deluxe 15 or Pinnacle Studio 12, btw, but unfortunately he lost this software due to a HDD crash.
