Hey all, installed Gothic on my vista 64x OS, 9800GTS video card, game works perfectly but I get no movies. The Piranha Bytes video doesn't show (but I can hear it) and the opening movie doesn't play (but I can hear that as well). Not a huge deal as I have played the game many times before and know the story already, but would be nice to see the video sequences again. I tried disabling AA completely under the NVIDIA control panel to no avail. I also tried searching but couldn't really find anything. Please reply if you have any ideas on getting my video back =), thank you.

I have the same problem on Vista 32 bit but I don't really mind.Like you I know exactly how the story goes

I had the same problem with movies some time ago but on Windows XP and with Gothic 2. I solved by install some new codecs.

Found the answer in another thread finally. Took awhile of looking, I just had to se my scalevideo in my .ini to 0. Works fine, very small video size as I believe it uses the native resolution of the Gothic game (which is like 800x600 or something) but it's nice to see the movies again.

I think it's Vista related problem. Since I have that on my Vista (all of the videos won't work - some do though...), but on my XP, everything works fine with videos!

This happens with me as well. The only remedy is either to install a new codec which I did or to live with it.
