Played the game several times before and could always read the Chronicles of Dominance on the lower level of the library.

Now when I try to read the book, I say "I'm not ready yet". What have I overlooked?

Update;

Ok, just to check out the conversation with Myxir, I got to Al Shedim the easy way. After talking to Myxir, that allowed me to return to the Fire Clan and ask Dargoth about the Cronicles down in the library.

Earlier success at reading the Chronicles must have been doing lots of stuff in Varant before going to the Monastery. Some time ago I rearranged my personal walkthrough to do stuff in Nordmar before seeing Myxir in Varant.
