Is ALIENWARE a good laptop manufacturer?
I want to buy a 'Alienware M11x',
but a friend told me that they quickly fall silent.
Excuse me if I don't speek good English.
Edit: So I want to ask if someone knows a better laptop or is this not true?
I'd like to have a gaming laptop, so Alienware is therefore perfect, right?

yes,the alienware laptops are designed for gaming.(and they look cool )
ps: i choose to live in hell!

Erm... its like asking if humans breathe (living ones that is).
Alienware has always been making good pcs/etc. for gaming purposes.
And they're also renown for it.
So they'd be damned if they didn't produce quality.
-
They're often quite expensive compared to hardware though (I think).
Buying a deskptop yields far better performance, but if you must have a laptop, and money isn't the biggest issue, then alienware will probably deliver a product you will be pleased of.

Just don't buy that, you will spend a lot of money for nothing. Better do some research and buy individual parts, then ask for the shop to put them together. This way you will have a system as good as alienware, only around 1000 euros cheaper.

^ I thought the same but... it turned out to be a little less than 200~ euros cheaper, because of the case. My PC is alienware-like, but my case is just a normal, nothing special one. And it's for only 30 euros, while the Alienware is like 200~
Dude, if you have the money, go for Alienware. Just do it, they're awesome.
-
If you put it like that... sure, if you have the money, why not? I certainly would. But if you are interested in the money/performance ratio, then custom build is your way.

They used to have a good reputation but Dell bought them and since them as far as I know they're nothing more than a fancy gaming Dell computer.
My advice it,do a bit of research and build it yourself.

Guys I'm 14...
I don't know anything about that (probably not before my 16th)
I only have 2 friends of 17/19 who program with LINUX
thats the only contacts who COULD do something like that,
so HOW can i do something like that?
Ps I have a friend of 14 who maybe colud help me even more than the 2 above...
And it's quite more expensive than just buying I think
p.s: I want a laptop for taking it to my friends and such...
edit: say what I should buy for at max €1000 ($1231,82/£816,73)

Thank goodness the internet is full of tech nerds forums. Just find one that is centered on hardware/laptops and ask them. And also: I don't think there is an alienware out there that costs only 1000 euros. If it is, it will be outdated in max 6 months. And I am being optimistic.
On the other hand a 1000 euros desktop would kick ass.

go to this then:

And yes it is better to have a desktop than a laptop, but I want to take it to my friends and beside that if you by the computer, you're not there yet: you'll have to buy a monitor, mouse and keyboard (and the boxes)

You can also ask on the forum of ComputerTotaal.
There are a lot of dutch nerds there who can
advise you. If you ask they also give suggestions
about complete pc's/notebooks or custom builds.

P.S: I'm Dutch too

I know you're dutch, told so in another thread,
that's why i told you about ComputerTotaal.
As you can see in my name, I am dutch too,
but on this forum we have to speak english.

Good for you. Just don't forget to search for information on the compatibility of different hardware components in order to get the best performance.

what do you mean exactly? explain plz

If you've never done anything like this before, I'd reccommend buying a prebuilt one.
Laptops can be a bit more tricky to make (epsecially space concerns).
Also hardware components must fit together. On a desktop pc, you must especially make sure that the case, the motherboard, the cpu and the ram fits together.
I'd reccommend you to buy one, and you can probably get a capable "gaming" pc without spending insane amounts of money, if you really need high performance then it's only desktops that will do anyways.
