its true that i dont post much, but i read a lot of your threads.
having all the threads in "two" subforums is not efficient anymore, its hard to follow your topics of interest. i don't understand german but i see you have done a good job keeping them user friendly with nicely diversed subforums.
i urge you to reform the english part of the forum, if stuff doesn't change here in a while i'll have to find a new gothic forum. maybe im alone in this point of view, but it doesnt really matter: if im alone, u wont miss me when i switch away; if there are more agreeing to this point, u'll probably do something about it, since you've done a great job so far ;)

Everything is just fine. Two subforums is enough, since YOU can`t even respect THIS.
You posted this in the wrong subforum, by the way, so you can`t tell the admins to change this system.

Well for one you should have posted in Peanuts and I'm sure that as we speak a moderator is moving it to that forum.
I'm sure that if it's how you say the administrators of the site/forum have already thought that in advance.

I once made a thread like this,when there was only the Gothic forum, I made a thread that they should make a Smal Talk forum.

I don't get it. What you don't really like? I didn't understand very well from your first post.
If it's about more sections of the forum then... i don't care. But to be honest it seems difficult to me even with those 2. :| Anyway...

I think it would be better that we can create some more subforums for the English speaking users, if we are with more then we are now. Today I don't see the point yet -> If you like the forum, you'll come here every day and you'll find everything still on the first page. -> I don't come here enough, because I haven't got enough time to check it out here every single day. But I don not mind that I need to scroll further down then a regular visitor.

I know there are alot of threads, that is why the new guys here, should learn how to make this forum as good as it can be. First of all, you all have to read the netiquette (http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/announcement.php?f=209&a=55). After that, try to make a few but good threads, not alot of bad threads. Use the search button to see what has been discussed, and if it's needed make a new thread. Try not to spam, post only when you have something good to say, and don't transform a thread into a chat. This is a forum, not a chat program. Don't try to boost your post counter! This is very important. If these few rules are respected, and if we all work like a good community (not every individual by himself), we can make this forum as good as it can be!
We don't need more subforums. Soon, it is posible that a new subforum appear, but mainly these 2 are enough, if you all treat them good ;)

We are thinking about a step by step process of expansion since we created the English WoG Section. But we have to wait till there is an additional forum needed.
i check WoG about two times daily, at work when we have lunch and i browse it at home in the evening. logging on gives me 3 pages of new posts, whereas im not so interested in G3 (i dont like hyping and far streching speculations) but look more for G2 threads. furthermore, rekinu, in a way you're right, but then we all know how welcome is the dismemberment of the interests. you cannot have "will there be butterflies in G3" and "black ore" in the same subforum. u know that, thats why u have sectioned the german forum, as all forum managements section their own.
i dont mind the number of replies and new threads posted daily as long as we know where stuff goes.
as a second point, extensive effort has been put into some posts i.e. made by sowillo, modders and generaly the people who contribute in a way we, the readers/posters/flamers don't. these posts should receive special attetion.

Is this your answer to his opening suggestion and prime concern? :confused: I hope not, otherwise all further discussion seems superfluous.
I think his reasoning makes sense. Not only the casual user gets overwhelmed by the sheer number of threads when he is looking for something and I don't think he is referring to the peanuts section.
I second his suggestions. I think its time we start considering to create subsections for the various Gothic games. There is no need now to go even further and subdivide Gothic 1 in general discussion and help discussion - yet.

the german part is a splitted in:
-General Gothic Discussion
-Help
(5 Subforums: G1,G2, NotR, Modifications, and Technical Support)
-Editing
-Role Playing Game (with it's guild's etc.)
-Story
There is no splitting in the Discussion between the Gothic Games. But as I can tell you, there will be soon a new Forum. The Gothic Help Threads are taking much threads in the Discussion Forum. It will be easier to watch over the Forum if they have their own forum. But dividing into the 3 Gothic-Games...

Well, the tempo is very high in here, that is the problem, the most important thing for the users is to look in the threads, they are interested in.
Are you serious? I know a forum which has 5 subforums...

Man, I know a forum where you can't keep up... not even if you stay all day in front of the PC. This WoG forum is more than ok... you can visit this forum once a day and you can reply in all new threads. I don't know, maybe it's hard for you, but for me it's very easy. Maybe I am used to the other forum.
Anyway, I like how WoG is and I hope it will stay this way...
But this is just my opinion :) ...

I total agree with rekinu. This forum is the best I saw, better that the ones that don't send the activation link by e-mail, and better than the ones where you can't use avatars, and better in the content of users.

Na, I don't think this is a good idea.
Well, for me it's very important and I really don't want to have subforum for G1, G2 and G3. This is on another forums and for me it's not good. Coz often we discuss all games and to understand something in G2 we speak about G1 and so on.
But I think it would make sence to have "help" subforum in future.
That's my opinion.

this forum is a part of a bigger gemran Forum.
The problem is, that it is hard to have several languages in one Forum.
Not everything is translated afais.
and there is the problem how we can change the ranks for Germans and English ppl.

I have some problems with my conection to the internet(I hope it'll be fixed during february)so am not here a loot, and this Reptile sugestion was ok.
Creating "Help" subforum was a good thing and I like it very much :)

i've been through a lot of stuff so i dont really mind people being offensive towards me in that way.
anyways, i wouldn't post my suggestions if i had not been sure that theres a chance that something will change or at least i'll get some positive feedback from the staff. as u can read in my first post, i had been positive the whole way and eventually the staff made one big step to a better english WoG. im sure that in time we'll see more of great stuff here.
as said, keep up the good work.

It's up to us to increase the English forum, if there are more posts in the english section, there will be a new subforum, but when gothic 3 releases maybe then will be a new gothic 3 subforum here.

that doesn't mean that there should be spamming. Instead of having alot of forums with spam i would rather see one clean and good forum ;)

Well, it seems that the thing with the english forum is solved. We will wait and see if there is need of another subforum, but until then enjoy the existing ones ;)
