You know... i'm somehow between you. If u take alomost everbody's opinion you'll see that a lot of people consider this book childlish, but if u read them it's not all like that. Anyway this book is some fantasy, for young people. And i consider it a bit childlish too. :D What can I say? "Don't disscus tastes!" :)
About my last read novel... The Three Muskeetears (sry for spelling) - Alexandre Dumas about one year ago... yes, i don't read much. :) But now i'm thinking of Winetoo, Old Shaterhand (sry for spelling again) and this kind of books, I heard that they're nice so i'll give them a try.

The Dream Spheres, a D&D novel by Elaine Cunningham.

I have been a fan of Elaine Cunningham's since I read Elfshadow, because of her lyrical writing style and characters possessed of more then two dimentions.
R.A. Salvatore is another novel writer who also wrote the Drizzt Do'Urden books.

Question: Is it true that a kid, 13 years old, can read 3 books in a week. I understood that the books were all romans of Harry Potter. Well, Faby, and the others, what do you think ?

Onisuzume
13.02.2006, 15:44
Well, you really can read 3 novels per week.
If I'd forget about the pc, then I could read the Songs & Swords series (5 novels) in 1 week.
Ofcourse, I wouldn't be doing something other then reading.

I make fun of harry potter books. ^^
And I don't think there's something wrong with my imagination, but with the imagination of the writer. (I mean: come on, you need a wand to cast spells...steal wand = powerless wizard)
It can't be my grammar that's wrong.
And I don't hate reading.

Then there's the names&stuff...

maledicere
14.02.2006, 21:50
In some cases you are right ..i found myself the names are a bit dorky ( Hogwarts )

Let's just say the wand is a magical energy that gives the spellcaster more power damage (you can see the wands are preatty used in the duels ) furthermore they don't have to use a wand to cast a spell , there are also potions and enchanted things :) you should really read , i'm sure you will like it , but first you have to see beyond

I'm not a freak but i read a lot

Well i watched the movies and i can say that everytime i enjoyed it. Even if at the firs impression the characters do seem "childish" as some say the story is actually an original one, wich is very rare these days. Anyway, i would read the books too if i would have time.

PS : Maybe someone will conisder to rename the thread to : Last book you read ;)
