Marcos Duarte, the Community Manager of Deep Silver announced in our forum that PB is currently working on a patch for RISEN. However, what problems will be addressed by that patch and when we can expect it, he did not tell.

Honestly, no official statements regarding a patch have been made since this very news was released. You're not the only one a little confused by that.

Are we certain that this refers to a PC patch? I never saw the original German post but could it be just for the XBox 360.

I wanted to check but the link became invalid. Maybe Pixel deleted his post. Currently, he and the rest of the DS guys are trying very hard to neither confirm nor deny a patch. It's like watching a politician. :C:

Maybe because the patch is now called RPB II.
