Those persons you mentioned above are the members of the German band "In Extremo". They have a kind of special guest appearance in the game but only in one chapter of the game and they disappear afterwards.

In order to get to Gilbert you have to climb up the cliff outside the south entry of the Old Camp.

But those persons are't important for the game, so you won't miss anything, except for the song In Extremo plays ;)

whith gilbert, the only quest is find him?....he gave me 100 of exp...and i could't talk to anybody of him.....i want to delated.....jaja i really enjoing polishing his mug......hahah....he use an expression that don't repeat in the game again.....when i take out the sword he says "i to old for this thing...plis noooo" haha.....imagine, you get as a guard, and go to visit and say him....HEY' protection money...ajajaja.....i think he will die from a heart attack...

@In Extremo: They play only in the german Version, because for the english Version there's no copyright. You couldn't have seen them because there's no InExtremo in the english Version. ;)

But they are singing many german songs (the Band In Extremo). I did not bear on the game's song.

I meant the sense of the overall promotion of the band in the English-speaking nations.

(btw: I can only remember the sense, when In extremo played, not the song)

Herr Mannelig exists in two versions, the one you have, and an acoustic version, which is played in the game. You find both on the album "Verehrt und angespien", along with many other great songs from this band. I can heavilly recommend this CD...

Hello everyone,

The cut-scene by inextremo "is most definately" in both of the international versions of gothic (english 1.08j and american 1.08k) of gothic - although to be exact, it has been deactivated for reasons previously mentioned. It can only be enacted by using *marvin* and then only if the correct method and sequence is used.
First, you must be in chapter two, then get on stage, then insert the characters, making sure to insert the announcer last. Then pc-hero must go quite some distance from the old camp, the swamp camp is o.k - or Cavalorn's hut, then on returning to the old camp Grim will greet you with dialogue similar to "hey - there's a band, inextremo on stage" - (or you could enter the command *ztrigger inextremo_musik* )
I have done this many times and enjoyed the accoustical sounding "Herr Mannelig". ;)

OK, I managed to find it finally. To make "In Extremo" work in international release, need to:

1) On stage: insert all band members.
InExtremo_DrPymonte
InExtremo_TheFlail
InExtremo_ThomasTheForger
InExtremo_Unicorn
InExtremo_YellowPfeiffer
InExtremo_Lutter
InExtremo_Flex

2) Off the stage: insert other people.

3) And last: insert announcer (MUST be last!)

In general the concert starts right after you enter the announcer, may have to rest for a night to get all the people moving.


There was also a trigger, I forgot it but it's written on paper at home, can check later. I didn't need the trigger, at least the concert started as soon as I entered the announcer. Charlotte, the girl, did not dance right away, but when I slept and came back, she was dancing. Grim, one of the diggers, told me that "In Extremo is here, come over and watch it" or something to that extent, but I forgot to check whether Grim will say so anyway after I enter these NPC's, or whether I need to activate the trigger. I did activate the trigger anyway, just in case, even when the concert started.

Any Chapter 2 savegame will suffice, or maybe just insert the "story-helper" and change to ch-2, but if you are requesting an english savegame that would be of little use in your german versions? but then again, it may just run through the mod-player kit, german or english - - not sure? - what do you think?

There is also somewhere a patch for non-german fans to re-activate the sequence but i cannot recall where to locate it.

Also, does the german version of gothic, when using marvin, enable the functions:- 'play theme' or 'play cs' or 'play jingle' ? - as these do not readilly enable in the english version, yet play sound (wav) works o.k. The inextremo wav file is listed as a "cutscene" (cs) - - in a seperate folder to all other sound files, - although it's a .wav file, will not play using 'play sound' - - yet other .wav files play o.k - - the tool/program "goman" by Pyrox, obviously has no problem playing these. ;)
