Hi folks!

I got a problem with the game. My pc was recently changed to a newer one, I got a new video card ( Nvidia geforce 9800 gtx EVGA ) with directX 10 support, and the game is a total mess:( It`s terribly slow, even if I change the graphics to 800 x 600. I don`t understand, my last pc was much worse, and there was no problems at all, and the game was fast! Anybody has any idea why is this happening? Thanks!

§welcome here Rolesz.

You should install DirectX 9.0c also, DX 10 isn't supported by Gothic 3. You can have both, DX 10 and DX 9.0c, parallel.

Thank you for the warm welcome and helping me out!:) Thanks again!

Edit:
Hi Again! Dx 9.0c is on, but not much improvement has happened! I got a vista business 64 bit OS...could it be a problem?

Are you sure you installed at least DX9.0c august 2006 version?

Here is the latest version (nov 2008): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=886acb56-c91a-4a8e-8bb8-9f20f1244a8e&DisplayLang=en

Even if all of them are numbered as 9.0c, the latest packages contain updated files.

Hm...Still not better..I don`t know what`s the problem. Maybe we need an other patch. Something for newer pc`s. I`ve checked the forum and as I see i`m not the only one with this problem. Am I right?:)

Iirc, I saw some problems similar to yours for a "nvidia 8th series cards + Vista" combination.

Do you have the latest driver for the video card? I hope you don't force settings like AA or AF.

What patches did you installed for G3??

...and, any chance a CPU with multiple cores could be the problem? (even though I heard of different issues than this)

I think there's only problem with AMD dual cores, not with Intels.

Could the 64 bit windows vista be the problem? Maybe I`m gonna try with a 32 bit vista. Let`s hope the best:)

Yes, It was the 64 bit vista! Under 32 bit..it works perfectly! Anyway...merry x-mas everybody!:)
