Two task involving Orontius

I cannot complete two quests with Orontius. Problem is that I can only complete one of the two tasks only. When I start to talk to Grabiel Orontius walks away when I reach Orontius house he walks away also. What must I do in order to complete these two quests?

After getting the quest from Kan you should go to Gotha. Orontius wants you to bring him to his wife. Go to his wife, talk there with Orontius, then with his wife and again with Orontius. After that you have to bring him to Gabriel.
It's important to do this in a fast order because he's a little bit buggy and walks often back to Kan.

Is Orontius important to the plot of G3 FG? I cannot complete these two quests. So I'll kill him to have one of the quest in journal section of fail quest. I always hate to see that one of the buggy quest stay in my journal forever.
