Gothic 2 Gold, wrong disc inserted

About year ago I installed this Gothic 2 Gold, and it worked just fine.

Now I try to install it from same CD's, well the install went fine, but now im getting "Wrong disc inserted" all the time when trying to start the game!

I tried every CD...

Its a fresh install, I havent tampered with it at all. (no mods or anything)

My OS is vista... But that cant be the problem because it worked before on this PC...

I even tried numerous no CD cracks or w/e they are called, with no luck. (reinstalled since)

But this doesen't mean he is using a pirated copy.Maybe he just tried some cracks to see if this resolves the problem.

Make sure that the user you use to install it has administrator rights.

I could take a picture of it and send it to you if thats what it takes to get help around here.. :o

Thanks, but I couldnt even find "g2.exe", so I assumed you ment "Gothic2.exe"
I did that to that file, but no luck.

That doesn't matter, bypassing the copyprotection is illegal, at least in germany, these forums (servers) and the responsible people are located in germany, so german law is what counts, ... plus it's against our terms of service.

No, ... but you should reinstall the game without any of these bad things, ... they can also cause problems.

You could try to install this here, (make a backup of your Gothic2.exe first because it will be overwritten):

Well, now the game starts...

All the dialogues are messed up.
I can choose what im going to say, but none of the speech is actually spoken or shown.
(Just warps from one list of choices to another)

Though sounds like a problem with a multi-core processor.

If you use an AMD processor then you might want to try the AMD Dual-Core Optimiser.
