g1, g2 music not working

i loaded g1, and g2 to my new computer, the music is on, but its not playing.
what should i do?:dnuhr:

If anyone still needs help with this I found a fix for it.

Extract these files to Gothic\System Directory.

Run Game with WinXP-SP2 Compatabilty/Run as Administrator.

Works on both Gothic and Gothic 2. I don't own Gothic 3 so I'm not sure about that.

click right button of mice on gothic exe (it can be even shortcut to the game) then properities compatibility. Next put check in box where says ''run this program as adminstarator" finally apply the changes. Or you can simply click right button on gothic shortcut and instead of choosing open click on run as adminstartor.

While Juggalo checks that out, may I ask if there's any known problem like missing music or uhm...badly timed background talk (like people talking together at the same time) particularly at Onar's farm? (running under XP)

You say: you have new computer. So that's why I think that you're running Windows Vista, right?

Try it then. If patch doesn't work I will try to figure out something else. In my case patch solved sound issue in gothic1.

the problemb is, is that i need to burn the information onto disk because my other couputer (the one with the games on) dosn't have internet.
and it said that no all information can be coppied.

no, thats pretty mutch all i can do.
when i get an internet connection for that computer ill try it then.

Vista Service pack 1 did that to me. That fix is really working, I got music back.

Do you have Vista or not?

If so, I'm 90% sure that the fix works!

Yeah, there's a known bug with music and vista SP 1...

In which case the music patch *should* work.

Thank you very much for this file. I was wondering why the music in G1 didn't work. I'm really grateful, because I love the music. It works now so I'm really enjoying playing G1 again. :D
