View Full Version : Macai - fire gate problem
I thik i have quite a problem here, hopefully not gamebreaking bug.
I'm at Macai island, and i worked for Corrientes, and i was ordered from him to find the fire gate. Before i found it, i managed to find out about Corrientes actually being a Garcia. The problem is, i attacked him, and then teleported. Now, quite long after that, i can still see that guy, but is now labeled as Garcia, and i can't talk to him. But the quest says i need to talk to Corrientes about fire gate, and on map, it's pointing to that Garcia guy as i see. Please tell me this isn't gamebreaking bug, because i done too many things to go back (and i don't think i have save game going that far ago).
Any ideas?
Is Garcia/Corrientes still in the Maracai village? Did you speak to the shaman (Osamu)? Do you have the Blood of the Ancestors?
nvm, solved the problem. Found out about the shaman later on, and that solved the problem. Tnx though.
You know, if you find the solution yourself, you should post it in your thread. Because:
Someone might have the same problem and wants to know how to solve it
It will save the time of people who want to help you by thinking about the problem and writing an answer.
This is the second time I answered to a question of yours and the second time it was a wasted effort. I am very tempted to ignore you the next time you post something. I'll just assume you already solved it yourself 5 minutes later again.
Geez, sorry, i will not open a single help me thread, if that bothers you so much.....
I opened this thread, didn't get reply right away, so i though i'd see if there is anything i skipepd. I didn't imagen shaman would be the problem to my quest, so i later did everything i could, even if stupid, and only later on found out about shaman.
I posted here that problem was that i didn't manage to find shaman before, or better, didn't know he even existed, and that i solved my problem this way.
But don't worry, i will not bother you any more....

No need to play the sorehead. It's alright if you have a question and want help. But people here in the forum sacrifice their free time to help others and get nothing in return. It would be nice to show them some respect and let them know if you don't need their time anymore. And to share your finding with the rest so that no one else needs to ask the same question again.

Example: You go for walk on a Saturday afternoon. The sun is shining and you enjoy your free time. Suddenly, someone steps forward and asks you to help him find his way. He shows you a map and wants to know how to get somewhere. You could just ignore him, it's not your problem after all. But you decide to help him, so you take the map and study it for a while to find out the best directions. Then you look up and the dude is gone. Later, you meet him somewhere else and he let's you know that he found the way himself but did not bother to tell you. Wouldn't you also feel that was impolite?
Foobar, sorry, but with all due respect:
"nvm, solvedthe problem. Found out about the shaman later on, and that solved the problem. Tnx though."
Just what part of this did you not understand? The whole point of this post WAS to inform you that i found a solution and that no farther help is needed.
Sure, it was just after you posted your help, but still, i posted it as soon as i found solution.
So i actually DID exactly what you said. Maybe i could explain the solution more, but i didn't think that was important. I told the problem was that i didn't know at all about the shaman, but i still think it was a bug, because i was suppose to do talk to garcia (quest log said so too), but i couldn't.
And about help...look, i'm not being ungreatfull here. But you skip my post all together and then come complain about why i didn't do what i actually did.
So, to sum it up, i DID inform you that i solved the problem, i even said tnx in the same post, and then you complain about how ungreatfull i am. Just what kind of reply did you expect really?
I am currently having this problem. To answer the question given by Foobar in the order they appeared:
Yes, he's still in the village.
Yes, I have spoken to the Shaman.
I don't know if I do quite yet.

Does anyone know what needs to be done if you find out about Garcia before you do the firewall quest?
Well, there is a shaman nearby (he's not in the village itself, you have to go a bit outside it), go talk to him, and do what he says. Then return to him. That solved the problem for me atleast.
i have the same(?) problem
i found about garcia before i found the fire gate.
i also talked to the shaman Osamu before i found the fire gate.
now all i can do is to speak to corrientes and kill the entire village (didnt tried)
or learn some voodoo @ Osamu...
so im stuck :/

Well, i maybe forgot to say, i attacked garcia, ran away, untill only one or two garcias men were on my tail, that kiled those.
At some point, there is only garcia left, so i the same way lure him out so i don't have to worry about too many natives, and eventually, i was alone with him, so i killed him (alone outside of village).
It's not that easy, but it's doable. And i think i killed only one native.

I had the same problem with Garcia. I found out that he is him before discovering fire gate. Also i confronted him and run away from the village, and when i came back all pirates were once again friendly and i was unable to interact with Garcia.
The solution is to open fire on the pirates and lure them out of the village and kill them one by one. Better if you just go alone, with nobody in the party to attract surplus agro. Take care not to kill natives. When all pirates are dead including Garcia, going away from the village and coming back(teleport) will make all natives friendly again.
